since the beginning of the brand-new century, i have been drifting considerably from the short story writing and publishing that was my biggest creative outlet for so many years. i didn't stop writing or publishing short stories entirely, but spent more time starting (and finishing) a literary journal of my own, writing the texts for a couple of original tarot decks, purchasing an iron hand printing press, writing about handknitting and other textiles, and becoming a features writer and columnist for korean quarterly. my dedication to and interest in handknitting has also become a creative priority as serious to me as words on paper have always been.
the navigation to the left is a good map of all the projects that have kept me happy and productive in recent years. now, it is time to not only continue with some of these open-ended ventures, but to spend more time on fiction as well.
the completion of projects such as the knitting tarot give me confidence that i'll have the time to work on short-stories again, although the fact that we expect to be parents by this time next year may eat away at some of that time ....nevertheless, this site should serve as a single-stop for anyone who wants to know what i'm writing, where it's being published and by whom, and a little bit of what's going on at home. while short stories won't have their own navigation or category, this blog and feed are the best place for updates.
